Weekend in Warsaw
in the footsteps of Fryderyk Chopin
DAY 1:
Arrival in Warsaw, hotel accommodation. In the evening piano concert in the Ostrogski Palace, the seat of the Fryderyk Chopin Society. Dinner in one of the traditional Old Town’s restaurant. Overnight in a hotel.

DAY 2:
After breakfast excursion to the places connected with the youth of the great composer – visit of ____ - the country once owned by the Chopin family and the place where he used to spent his summer vacations. Stop in Brochów to see a charming 16th century church where he was baptized (it’s confirmed by some historical documents kept there). Visit of ¯elazowa Wola, the birthplace of Fryderyk Chopin, where you will see the Chopin’s Manor House - in typical style for the Polish architecture of the 19th century. Restored rooms of the manor house contain a small museum with a collection of family portraits, furniture of the époque and other Chopin’s memorabilia. Optionally: piano concert in the park surrounding the villa.

DAY 3:
City tour with a local guide: the Castle Square, King Sigismond III Waza Column, St. John’s Cathedral, the Old Town Market Square, the Barbican. Visit to the Royal Castle, than visit to the Jewish Ghetto Monument, historical sites of the Royal Route. Visit to the National Museum. Afternoon visit to the Lazienki Park. Evening performance at the National Opera House.

DAY 4:
Return flight home.

LOCAL EXCURSIONS:
Zelazowa Wola- the birthplace of Fryderyk Chopin. This excursion will give you the opportunity to see the charming Manor House - typical in style for the Polish architecture of the 19th century – the birthplace of the greatest Polish composer, Fryderyk Chopin. Restored rooms of the manor house contain a small museum with a collection of family portraits, furniture of the époque and other Chopin’s memorabilia. After the tour of the house you will listen to the beautiful piano concert.
Arkadia- Pre-Romantic park founded by Helena Radziwillowa and Nieborow- splendid former residence of the Radziwill family; now housing the Warsaw branch of the National Museum, collection of ancient sculptures, china, paintings and old prints.
£owicz- Masovian Folklore Center with skansen; the history of the town goes back to the Middle Ages, now it lodges a branch of the National Museum showing the folk arts and crafts.
