DAY 1: CRACOW
Arrival to Cracow, the historical capital of Poland
and its major cultural center. Transfer to the hotel.
In the afternoon sightseeing of the Old Town. Dinner
in a restaurant. Return to the hotel and overnight.
DAY 2: CRACOW - DUNAJEC - DĘBNO - ZAKOPANE - CHOCHOŁÓW
- CRACOW
After an early breakfast departure to Kro¶nica, the
place where the rafting route begins. 2-hour ride
in the rafts down the wild, mountain river Dunajec
to Szczawnica, from where the bus tour will continue.
Stop in Dębno to visit from the outside the San Micheal
Arcangel’s Church. Transfer to Zakopane. Lunch at
the traditional Polish restaurant. Guided tour of
Zakopane. In the afternoon ride in a funicular railway
to the top of Mt. Gubałówka. Stop in Chocholów - a
village situated high in the mountains famous for
its unique wooden architecture of the highlanders’
chalets and the marvelous view of the local summits.
Return to Cracow.
DAY 3: CRACOW
The HD sightseeing tour of Cracow including Wawel
Castle with its exquisite chambers filled with priceless
art, best period furniture and rare ancient objects
and the Wawel Cathedral. Visit of The Grand College,
or Collegium Maius, the ancient college of the Poland’s
oldest and most renowned university.
DAY 4: CRACOW - WIELICZKA - CRACOW
In the morning trip to O¶więcim and the visit to the
former Nazi camp Auschwitz-Birkenau. In the afternoon
a walk along the narrow streets of Kazimierz, the
Jewish district of Cracow, where one still finds a
unique atmosphere of the Jewish past of this area.
Just wandering about is an experience in itself, but
not to be missed are the Corpus Christi Church, the
Temple Synagogue and Szeroka street - the heart of
the old Jewish district. Either of the two graveyards,
the Remuh or the New, are also well worth a look.
Dinner in one of the traditional restaurants of Kazimierz
that serve mainly a typical Jewish cousine. The meals
here are usually accompanied by live concerts of Jewish
music.
DAY 5: CRACOW - WIELICZKA - CZĘSTOCHOWA - WARSZAWA
In the morning excursion to Wieliczka Salt Mines,
famous for its salt sculptures, saline lakes and chapels.
Return to Cracow for lunch. Departure to Czestochowa.
the spiritual capital of Poland. Visit to the Pauline
Monastery with the fabled Black Madonna shrine: guided
visit to the Pauline treasury, museum and fortification
walls. Arrival to Warsaw.
(Optional: overnight in Częstochowa)
DAY 6: WARSAW
Sightseeing tour of the city including the Old Town-the
Castle Square, King Sigismund III Waza Column, the
Royal Castle, St.John’s Cathedral, St.Anna’ Church.
Afternoon visit to the Łazienki Park where the famous
statue of Chopin is located. A Chopin concert in one
of the pavilions of the park called Ermitage. Dinner
and overnight.
DAY 7 : WARSAW - WILANÓW
Visit of Wilanów, a splendid baroque residence located
in the suburbs of Warsaw, often referred to as the
“Polish Versailles”. It is undoubtedly one of the
finest places to visit in Warsaw. Its art collections
are outstanding, and a very pleasant afternoon can
be spent wandering about the gardens. In the afternoon
free time.
DAY 8: WARSAW
After breakfast last look at Warsaw’s monuments before
departure. Lunch in a restaurant. Transfer to Okęcie
Airport.
